Tiki Island

The Village of Tiki Island is a coastal community located off Interstate 45 on a tiny peninsula in Jones Bay, five miles west of Galveston in Galveston County. The residential development was in existence by the late 1960s and incorporated on August 30, 1982. In 1990 the town had a population of 537. That number increased to 1,016 in 2000. The Village of Tiki Island has a mayor and alderman form of government, and the resort community has a police department, volunteer fire department, and one church.
