For a glimpse into the past, explore a miniature model of Cameron, circa 1940, on display in the county clerk's office. For a more in-depth look at county memorabilia, visit the Milam County Historical Museum, which occupies the old county jail and a historic building on the square. The castle-like Romanesque-Revival structure, complete with gloomy cells and gallows tower, was restored as a jail and sheriff's living quarters.
