This sun soaked region, visited by many travelers escaping the cold each winter, is where Texas and Mexico come together. Experience some of the great Mexican cuisine and heritage in the South Texas Plains region. The South Texas Plains Region is home to the Casa Navarro State Historic Site, one of 8 state parks in this region. Historic residence of Jose Antonio Navarro member of the Texas legislatures under Mexico, Republic of Texas, and the State of Texas. Representing San Antonio, he signed the Texas Declaration of Independence.
