The South Texas Plains Region is home to the Casa Navarro State Historic Site, one of 8 state parks in this region. Historic residence of Jose Antonio Navarro member of the Texas legislatures under Mexico, Republic of Texas, and the State of Texas. Representing San Antonio, he signed the Texas Declaration of Independence.
