Kerrville was first settled by shingle makers drawn to the towering Cypress trees along the Guadalupe River. The shingle makers are gone now but visitors are still drawn to Kerrville. The rugged terrain, rolling hills, beautiful river, and of course towering Cypress trees along with the abundant wild life, rare birds, wildflowers and an array of activities create a popular escape destination.
