Columbus, Texas

Located in the Prairies and Lakes region, the town of Columbus, Texas is in Colorado county.

Columbus settled in 1823 by some of the original members of Stephen F. Austin's Colony, Columbus is nestled along the banks of the Colorado River, along IH-10 between Houston and San Antonio.

Known for its natural beauty and subtle sophistication, Columbus is home to an award winning Opry, an arts center, live dinner theater, museums, river activities, lovely Victorian homes, and centuries old Live Oaks. This community of just under 4,000 is located in the heart of the Independence Trail region and is the oldest, continuously occupied Anglo-American settlement in Texas.
