The First United Methodist Church of San Saba was organized in 1856 in an area so wild that the church gave the missionary a revolver. On this site+ the first frame church was built in 1882. The present building+ built in 1914+ is made of San Saba marble and said to be the only all-marble Methodist Church in the United States.
