The Alvin Historical Museum housed in the former post office building at 300 West Sealy is officially open. Visitors can tour the museum and see the exhibits every Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is $3 per person. Children 12 and under are free. The Alvin Museum Gift Shop is also open the same hours as the museum and features items for sales such as calendars ornaments and the 1915 directories. In addition there are magnets key chains and local history books and books by local authors Bill Crider Larry Phillips and others.
